I’m curious as to why peak wedding periods around this part of the world usually fall within the last 4 months of the year. While you’re trying to avoid heaping up mountains of debt because of Aso-Ebi, here are a few tips on what not to wear to a wedding.
1. A White Dress
If you don’t want to steal the bride’s shine on her special day, avoid wearing a white dress. There’s always a tendency of wanting to express your displeasure over the union. Please show your bitterness in a different way. Exceptions are made when the wedding theme is white.
2. A Super Mini Dress
Young lady, what are your intentions? I can guarantee you wouldn’t get past the gate, talk more of the hall/tent. The eye them go take pursue you ehn!
3. Extremely High Heels
I’ve been down that road before. Buying shoes you only use for the wedding day. And did I mention how uncomfortable they were? Jeez, plus you keep looking for the nearest seats to perch on.
4. Jeans and a Tee
Did you look at your invite? Does it look like a kid’s birthday party you’re attending? Weddings in Naija are not dress-down affairs where you wear anything. Biko, leave that denim for shopping days, hangouts and casual dates.
5. Revealing/low cut Dresses
It’s not the bachelor’s eve neither is it the after party. Didn’t your momma teach you how to dress right?
6. Head to Toe Black
Are you attending a funeral? Many brides do incorporate an element of black into their day. Just don’t take it overboard and come looking like a black widow spider.
